Support the Freedom of the Press – The Fight Goes On

The Word, A Storytelling Sanctuary, Inc.

Thornton, CO, United States

The Word, A Storytelling Sanctuary (The Word) was founded in 2016 to address the structural problem of representation in literary publishing. Just 11% of published adult fiction is written by BIPOC authors, a gap rooted in opaque industry processes, limited editorial access, and geographic isolation from coastal publishing centers. The Word seeks to close that gap by building connective infrastructure across the literary ecosystem and supporting individual writers.
