Roots & Culture Contemporary Art Center was founded in 2006 in Chicago’s Noble Square neighborhood. Its mission is to provide exhibition opportunities to emerging artists and curators in a welcoming exhibition space for diverse audiences. Roots & Culture functions as an incubator for art careers — offering professional building blocks that artists and curators need to jumpstart their careers: experience mounting ambitious exhibitions; connections to press, patronage, and curators; and tangible resources like professional documentation and stipends.
