Dion's Chicago Dream's purpose is to bring food security with dignity to West Englewood residents. Founded in 2020 by Dion Dawson, a Navy veteran who grew up in Englewood and experienced food insecurity, the organization has two core programs: a healthy food box delivery program and a community fridge. Both are free to local families, who are identified through door-to-door community outreach.
