Chicago Art Department (CAD) is an artist-run, BIPOC-led nonprofit that provides artists with equitable and accessible opportunities for artistic development through subsidized studio residencies, community events, and contemporary exhibitions and programs rooted in justice. CAD is accessible for all artists of all backgrounds at any career stage; supporting emerging, mid-career, and established artists. Each year CAD offers 50+ free programs to remove financial barriers from all Chicagoans.
