School Supply Giveaway Success

This back-to-school season, several of our partners hosted successful supply giveaways throughout the city, ensuring young people across Chicago started the year prepared and confident.

Through an in-kind donation from the Foundation, partners distributed more than 2,400 backpacks filled with essentials like notebooks, binders, pencils, crayons, calculators, and more. These supplies help students engage fully in their learning—fostering both joy and dignity in the classroom.

Still, the need far exceeds what one donation can cover. If you are interested in supporting this work, please reach out. Together, we can make a lasting impact on Chicago’s students.

IL Pride Connect

As LGBTQIA+ communities in Illinois and across the country face an alarming rise in discriminatory policies, legal uncertainty, and attacks on bodily autonomy, the need for reliable, community-rooted resources has never been greater.

Grantee Legal Council for Health Justice recently launched IL Pride Connect, a new Statewide LGBTQIA+ Legal Hotline and Resource Hub dedicated to connecting our communities with trusted legal resources, affirming services, and timely advocacy tools.

IL Pride Connect includes a digital resource hub with legal FAQs, know-your-rights information, referrals to affirming legal and community services, and advocacy tools. It also includes a first of its kind legal hotline that provides real-time information and referrals on name and gender marker changes, housing and education rights, and access to healthcare and public benefits.
